Blind Faith – comprising of Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker (Cream), Steve Winwood, and Ric Grech (Family) – was formed at the end of 1968 when Eric Clapton (ex-Cream) and Steve Winwood (ex-Traffic) were at loose ends after the demise of their former bands.
They began to spend time together again (they had previously collaborated on record as Powerhouse with Manfred Mann’s singer Paul Jones), jamming and working on new material at Clapton’s house in Ewhurst, Surrey. [Hurtwood Edge.]
The super-group played their first concert in 100,000 people June 7, 1969 at Hyde Park.
